2025 here we go again...

The wheels of the Southland Woodworkers Guild

are humming along and members busy doing their craft

in our fabulously equipped workshop with facilities which

are among the best in the Southern Hemisphere !!

( see for yourselves )

If you reading this and are considering to come down
for a look then you made the right choice !

Check the timetable for opening hours ( contact tab top of page ) you are most welcome to have a chat with our friendly members on site.

We have a mixed membership of men and woman who love working
with wood and most are skilled in their subject and available to pass on
their knowledge.

HAVE A GO WEEKEND

Have you ever wanted to create a beautiful wooden bowl, a snazzy chopping board, a beautiful carving or even a scale replica of the Invercargill Water Tower? No matter your experience level, you can find support and encouragement at the Southland Woodworkers Guild as you develop your skillset and enjoy the craft.

Come along to our Have a Go Weekend for the opportunity to try wood turning, scrollsaw, crate assembly, pyrography and carving in a supervised environment. Chat with current members to get a feel for the club and perhaps sit down for a complimentary tea or coffee.

We look forward to welcoming you at 5 Mary Street on Saturday 5th July and Sunday 6th July, between 10am and 3pm. See you there!

As this is a workshop environment, children must be 14+ years old and accompanied by an adult.

Fundraising  ( to pay for our overheads )

It's the time of the year that everyone is stocking up on firewood
or has already done so and with the winter getting closer we
can offer the public again bags of bone dry firewood at a very good price !

small bags are only $ 6
large bags only $ 10

so better be quick before we put the SOLD sign up

 Matariki Art Fundraiser

( a while ago now )

We have been lucky enough to be commissioned by
one of our members Sharne Parkinson to cut out 2000 Purerehua and Porotiti.
These are traditional Maori instruments that are used for
clearing energy and healing.

It’s been all hands-on deck drawing, cutting, sanding and
counting over the last few weeks.
